Amy Macdonald’s debutalbum ”This Is The Life” fra 2007 sendte hende op i superligaen af succesfulde britiske singer-songwritere.

Albummet har solgt 3 millioner eksemplarer på verdensplan og gik nr. 1 i fem lande, inklusiv Danmark, og har desuden opnået platin eller multiplatin status i intet mindre end 12 lande. Titelnummeret ”This Is The Life” gik nr. 1 i 10 lande og Amy har solgt mere end 2 millioner singler fra albummet.

Hendes nye album, A Curious Thing viser en ny side af hende, og sangene er stadig både stærke og fængende. Albummet er optaget i Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios, og ’the modfather’ spiller da også med på 2 sange på albummet. Første single hedder 'Don't Tell Me That It's Over’.
